Mount Morgan Experience takes shape

Mount Morgan is undergoing a transformation to bring alive the rich history of this once prosperous mining town.

A series of interpretive signs in the town's business centre will provide a glimpse into the past life of the town. Panels will highlight aspects of the town's social history, and others will be located at key buildings of historical architectural significance.

A self-guided interpretive trail contained within the town 'passport' will let visitors explore the histories at their own pace and according to their own interests.

The Mount Morgan Historical Museum's social history collection is to be supplemented with an interactive multimedia oral-history kiosk.

This will present local people telling their own stories. A computer touchscreen will be used to present a 'quilt' effect of faces, and visitors can select a face to hear a story.
